Towards the end of the show, the Life On Mars actor took to the kitchen to help Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy prepare a banana and peanut butter cake with mango icing.
The team discussed why it was that Philip, 54, is not on any form of social media when talk turned to a fan account.
Tim, 49, explained: “Do you know Philip Glenister Fans is an Instagram page that has 364 followers?”
Taken aback by the seemingly small number, the actor snapped back: “I thought you were going to say 364,000!”
Philip then threw his hands up in disbelief as he stormed off the set, before returning with a cheeky grin on his face.
It was an eventful week all round on Sunday Brunch, with Tim finding himself red-faced after Simon, 54, exposed his deepest fears.
It transpires that the former is not a fan of singing or speaking French in public.
However, guest Tom Grennan and Simon berated the host to try and get him to face his fears on the show.
Tim decided to end the interview before things could get worse for him, but Simon still managed to slip in a cheeky “au revoir” to make him squirm.
Sunday Brunch airs weekly on Channel 4 at 9.30am.
