In unearthed snaps, the Coronation Street favourite is seen in a number of scantily-clad costumes for 1961’s A Pair of Briefs and Carry on Cleo three years later.
The 82-year-old, who played Alma in the ITV soap, wore little more than a feather boa for the former, which she shot when she was in her 20s.
With a shocked expression on her face, Amanda’s toned tum and endless legs were impossible to miss while her short dark tresses were styled into a voluminous ‘do.
The movie, which also starred Michael Craig and Mary Peach, was only the actress’ second and was about a new female barrister who bonds with a rebel in chambers.
Another pair of eye-popping pictures of Amanda are from her turn as Cleopatra, complete with an iconic dark bob.
The star happily went totally topless and was seen in what appeared to be a giant bath tub wearing nothing but a fluffy shower cap.
Amanda was also seen in full Egyptian regalia as she showed off her pins thanks to her sheer tulle skirt’s daring split.
It was 17 years later that she emerged on the cobbles as Alma Halliwell, the wife of cafe owner Jim Sedgewick (played by Michael O’Hagan).
The character went on to have a tempestuous on-off relationship with Mike Baldwin (Johnny Briggs), before her death to cancer in 2001.
Since then Amanda has gone on to appear in Benidorm, Doctors, Bad Girls and Holby City, as well as The Real Marigold Hotel last year.
