What will happen in Star Trek Discovery episode 11?
The Wolf Inside will be airing tomorrow (Sunday, January 14) on CBS in the US and then drop on Netflix on the preceding day.
A preview for The Wolf Inside was released at the end of episode 10 and gave some big hints about what to expect from episode 11.
In the short 30-second teaser trailer, Michael Burnham (played by Sonequa Martin-Green) is heard in voiceover saying: “Every moment is a test and everywhere I turn, there’s fear.”
She continues: “Can you continue to pretend to be one of them? Even if as little by little it kills the person who really are?”
As she speaks, viewers see shots of a grief-stricken Lieutenant Paul Stamets (played by Anthony Rapp) as he cradles his boyfriend Dr Hugh Culber (Wilson Cruz).
Culber was killed off in the last episode, which has led to a huge fan backlash, but actor Wilson, 44, has teased that his character will be back.
Meanwhile, there are hints that Captain Gabriel Lorca’s (Jason Isaacs) true motives will be revealed as he’s seen looking rather shady.
Another shot shows Burnham coming into contact with a Vulcan in what appears to be a prisoner situation.
The scene changes again and Stamets appears to be undergoing a process that could be helping to restore his health, however Cadet Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman) and First Officer Saru (Doug Jones) look concerned.
Later on Burnham and Lieutenant Ash Tyler (Shazad Latif) are on a mission together as a crater explodes behind them.
They also appear to be taking on their captors on with Tyler attacking someone.
Tilly is seen in tears, suggesting that things are not going well for Stamets.
The closing shots see a planet getting attacked as Burham says: “Maybe none of us really know the darkness waiting inside.”
In the final scene, Burnham is revealed to be talking to Tyler as the pair seem to be in a state of undress, implying that they’ve slept together.
The title of the episode itself offers a clue about the plot, The Wolf Inside alludes to people being completely different in reality to how they appear.
Could we finally find out the truth about Tyler, who accidentally killed Culber last week? There have been clues since the beginning that Tyler could be a Klingon in disguise.
Will there be another season of Star Trek Discovery?
Season two of Star Trek Discovery was confirmed by CBS last year after just six episodes.
“In just six episodes, Star Trek: Discovery has driven subscriber growth, critical acclaim and huge global fan interest for the first premium version of this great franchise,” said President and CEO at CBS Interactive Marc DeBevoise in October last year.
He went on to say: “This series has a remarkable creative team and cast who have demonstrated their ability to carry on the Star Trek legacy.
“We are extremely proud of what they’ve accomplished and are thrilled to be bringing fans a second season of this tremendous series.”
Show runners are hoping that Star Trek Discovery season two will be airing in early 2019.
Star Trek Discovery is available to watch weekly on Netflix on Mondays.
