Poldark season 4 FIRST LOOK: Ross and Demelza scenes solves Hugh Armitage puzzle | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

BBC viewers will remember that Poldark’s season three finale saw Demelza Poldark (played by Eleanor Tomlinson) finally give in to temptation with the dashing newcomer Lieutenant Hugh Armitage (Josh Whitehouse).

After continually wooing her the instant upon his return from captivity, which coincidentally he was liberated from by Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner), Hugh managed to break down the fiery redhead’s walls eventually.

Add to his constant charm the fact hat Ross had turned colder and colder as the days wore on, consumed with his rivalry with George Warleggan (Jack Farthing), and Demelza was craving attention by the end of the series in windy Cornwall.

Yet while it wasn’t completely obvious exactly how far Demelza had taken her tryst with the officer, she came back to the cottage with her tail between her legs.

In one of the more heart wrenching moments of Winston Graham’s adapted novels, the pair lay next to each other in bed, but seemed miles apart, until they eventually embraced.

Now, the show has released an incredibly romantic teaser as a Valentine’s Day treat, and it seems to confirm that Ross and Demelza will have fixed their woes without too much trouble.

In one clip, Demelza can be see grinning ear-to-ear as she lovingly bathes her husband.

Seizing the opportunity to play with his wife, Ross then decides to dive down into the water before giving her a playful splash.

Unable to contain her delight, Demelza chuckles with glee, clearly showing that the pair haven’t yet lost their spark despite the drama last season.

The couple then launch into a passionate embrace, as fans are treated to yet another glimpse of the Irish actor’s rippling biceps once more.

The official BBC Twitter captioned the 49 second clip: “It might be #Poldark, but share this with the Pol-light of your life. #ValentinesDay <3,” along with the banner: “How I want my life to be” running through the video.

The teaser also shows hints at other fan-favourite couple Dr Dwight Enys (Luke Norris) and Caroline Penvenen (Gabriella Wilde), along with an uncharacteristically sweet moment between George and Elizabeth Warleggan (Heida Reed).

“They might start off a bit rocky and they might try to figure things out,” Aidan said of the central relationship at the Radio Times Covers Party. “It’s a very real relationship, these things can happen in a marriage.”

“I think we tackle it in a very real way. It’s something an audience will understand,” he added.

Poldark season 4 is expected to return to BBC One later this year.
