Who is Carnage in Altered Carbon?
The latest sci-fi series exploded onto screens at the beginning of the month, causing a frenzy with its intricate plot lines, new terminology and shocking sex-scene, which could be the most graphic on Netflix.
But one character who stands out is that of Carnage (played by Matt Frewer).
Though he has just a small role in the cyber-punk noir series, it is a significant one.
The character’s first appearance is in episode five, The Wrong Man, where he runs the Panama Rose Fightdrome – a combat arena in Bay City where specially bred combat sleeves fight for the amusement of the masses.
Carnage wears a synth sleeve, which means he can change his appearance easily.
His presence in the season serves to explain some missing details from Bancroft’s (James Purefoy) murder case.

Matt Frewer is an American-Canadian actor best known for playing the 80s sci-fi character Max Headroom.
