EastEnders spoilers: Hunter Owen’s REAL dad exposed in twist to change 16 years of history | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Hunter (played by Charlie Winter) made his EastEnders debut earlier this month when his mother Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) found him hovering over this late grandmother’s grave.

The teen has spent his early days in Albert Square trying to uncover the truth about his father Steve (Martin Kemp), Walford’s most notorious gang leader.

Eventually, Ciara Maguire (Denise McCormack) couldn’t wait to expose Steve’s killer past.

Hunter’s already found an ally in his childhood friend Louise Mitchell (Tilly Kepper), but fans have rumbled a dark twist which would rewrite the history books.

Mel and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) famously embarked on a brief fling in 2001, just four months before she announced she was pregnant.

In turn, viewers have predicted there’s an incest storyline waiting on the horizon with Louise and Hunter turning out to be brother and sister.

“Hunter is definitely going to end up with Louise and then turn out to be Phil’s son,” speculated one audience member.

Another begged: “Please #eastenders don’t do a Louise and Hunter incest storyline.”

“Incest storyline for Louise and Hunter??” questioned one more.

A fourth wrote: “Louise and Hunter will start dating and then in a strange twist of events, they’ll somehow end up being related.”

Though, one fan noticed a flaw in their thinking: “Why are people still thinking that they’re will be an incest storyline with Louise and Hunter? they’re not related. Phil and Mel slept in 2000, Louise and Hunter were born in 2002.”

Actress Tamzin recently opened up on Mel’s turbulent relationship with Hunter, which has already been a roller-coaster.

Speaking to TV Times, Tamzin shared: “My own kids are much younger, and we’re idiots and jokers together, whereas a 15-16 year old boy is a very different dynamic.

“He’s resentful and angry – everything that teenagers are. It’s a lot less fun being a mum in EastEnders than it is for me in real life!

“Mel’s walking on eggshells.”

EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
