Emmerdale news: Lisa Riley drops Mandy Dingle baby bombshell ‘It’d give Paddy a shock’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Loose Women star Lisa played the much-loved Dingle in Emmerdale between 1995 and 2001.

Although Lisa’s career has gone from strength to strength, she still reflects on her time on the ITV soap.

The 41-year-old recently revealed that her decision to leave prompted a confused reaction from her colleagues.

“Everyone thought I was crazy for leaving Emmerdale, yet I’ve not been out of work since,” Lisa explained.

“I adored my time there, but I wanted to play different characters. She’s still talked about wherever I go though.

“I flew back from Mexico last year and the two guys that were sitting behind me started singing ‘Mandy’ by Barry Manilow!

“Everybody still talks about her food wagon Mandy’s Lunchbox – it’ll go down in history!” she told Inside Soap.

What’s more, Lisa didn’t appear to rule out a potential return in the future for Mandy – and even has a shocking storyline in her mind for the very occasion.

She teased: “People keep telling me, ‘Your Paddy needs you back!’

“But in my last episodes, Mandy and Paddy spent the night together, so there could be a mini-me knocking about.

“I’d be so much more interested to see what their child is like – and it’d give Paddy a shock!”

Elsewhere on Emmerdale, the remaining Dingle family members’ lives have been rocked by a shock earthquake.

Evil Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) knocked down the Wishing Well Cottage leaving them in turmoil.

Debbie (Charley Webb) tried to get revenge on the scheming businessman but it went disastrously wrong and resulted in her friend, Ross Barton (Michael Parr), suffering an horrific acid attack.

Now, Debbie has sparked fresh fears after receiving huge viewer backlash for not owning up to her guilt when visiting the victim.

Emmerdale continues tonight on ITV at 7pm.
