Faye, 30, opened up about the raunchy lesbian love story which has dominated her character’s storyline in recent weeks.
The actress, who plays Kate Connor in Coronation Street, addressed the plot which has seen Kate and married Rana Nazir (played by Bhavna Limbachia) and start an affair.
With hordes of fans of the much-loved ITV show demonstrating their dedication to the relationship, dubbed “Kana”, on social media, Faye admitted that the stars were delighted with the positive response to the romance.
The pair were previously seen giving in to temptation and getting hot ad heavy in the back of Rana’s husband Zeedan’s (Qasim Akhtar) van, and the brunette beauty has confessed that the sizzling scene was the sexiest ever to be aired on the series.
Speaking about the steamy moment, she enthused: “I’m totally on board with everything.
“I’m like, ‘Yep!’ I do feel like we were making history there,” she said.
“It was probably the raciest scene I’ve ever seen in Corrie and I like that they’re pushing that.
“If they’re going to try to give a voice to these girls who are hiding and not being able to express themselves or how they truly feel, then that’s going to do it,” she added.
The 33-year-old star, who plays Aidan Connor, is set for an imminent departure from the show, with Faye insisting that with him leaving, “none of us are safe”.
“Shayne is really good at his job and he’s loved,” she told The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine. “But if there are some who maybe take it for granted or have become a bit complacent, it really does make you pull your socks up.”
She also hinted that former X Factor winner Shayne’s exit hadn’t been entirely his decision.
Alluding to the fact that his fate had been chosen by show bosses, she said that his departure is down to “changes” being made.
Shayne announced the news that he would be leaving on Twitter in December.
“I just wanted to thank you all so much for your lovely kind messages regarding the news of my departure from Coronation Street next year,” he told his 374,000 followers. “I truly love you all.”
An insider has also revealed that his upcoming exit will be “explosive”.
