Those tuning into the ITV soap, saw Carla (played by Alison King) go into surgery alongside her half-brother Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward), who had agreed to donate a kidney.
Despite being seriously ill, Coronation Street viewers were left stunned as Carla appeared to look well and was immaculately made up.
Following her procedure, she did not look tired at all with her half-sister Kate (Faye Brookes) and close friend Roy Cropper (David Neilson) both commenting on her appearance.
Roy claimed his friend was “glowing” as Carla admitted she felt much better following the operation.
Aidan on the other hand, appeared to be struggling and broke down in tears when he was left alone.
Taking to Twitter to comment on Carla’s incredible appearance, one viewer wrote: “Would Carla be going in to surgery with a face full of make-up? #Corrie.”
“#Corrie I find it ridiculous that you never make Carla look ill even though she’s supposed to be seriously ill #CoronationStreet #Silly,” another added.
A third continued: “Ah that’s right Carla – full make-up for your trip to surgery #Corrie.”
Someone else shared: “That scene would have been more realistic if the doctor had have said, ‘Carla’s in recovery, awake and – *somehow* – still inexplicably gorgeous’.” #Corrie.”
Elsewhere on Coronation Street, fans noticed an error in Craig Tinker’s (Colson Smith) tragic Obsessive Compulsive Disorder plot.
In the most recent episode, he could be seen struggling with his OCD once more and could be seen switching off light switches and turning oven knobs.
However, viewers spotted something strange about the scene as Craig went through his routine.
In one shot, he can be seen wearing a red checked shirt, however in another close-up shot of his arm, he is seen in a long-sleeved dark shirt.
It seems as though the ITV soap was reusing shots from other episodes when he had been wearing a similar shirt.
However, it could also be that the hands used in the shot were not his.
Coronation Street continues tomorrow on ITV at 7.30pm.
