Emmerdale’s troubled teenager Gabby Thomas (played by Rosie Bentham) has been causing havoc across the Dales over the last few weeks, and viewers have become less and less forgiving.
When Gabby turned on her best friend Liv (Isobel Steele) by giving her a horrific tattoo and exposing her confused sexuality on the ITV soap, it seemed it was the last straw.
But last night took things even further when Liv went along with Gabby’s nasty plan to spike Daz Spencer’s (Mark Jordan) drink, as loveable Lisa (Jane Cox) got caught in the crossfire.
While the girls dealt with their guilt over the awful accident, there were fears Lisa would even make it out alive as she suffered a heart attack in hospital.
As the police arrived to take both girls in for questioning following Vanessa Woodfield’s (Michelle Hardwick) report, Gabby suddenly did the decent thing and shocked fans by taking the blame for the incident all on her own.
Liv stood in silence as her older half-brother Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) warned her to tell the whole truth and Gabby couldn’t stay silent anymore.
“It was me I saw [the ketamine] in Vanessa’s bag so yeah I took it.
“I wanted to get back at Daz so I spiked his drink and Lisa drank it by mistake. I’m really sorry,” she added poignantly.
Twitter was abuzz as viewers couldn’t believe that the normally sneaky Gabby had finally stepped up to the plate.
One person shared: “I’m shocked she actually claimed responsibility for once #Emmerdale.”
“So… Gabby confessed it was her that spiked the drink, I was shocked to see Gabby cover for her friend Liv! I love the Dingles on #Emmerdale,” another wrote.
A third simply said: “Gabby confessed… don’t believe it …… #Emmerdale.”
While a fourth declared: “#emmerdale Gabby’s actually gabbed the truth, for the first time in her life!! #who’dathought? Shock.”
“Gabby took the blame, didn’t see that coming #Emmerdale,” another fan added in disbelief.
In the episode’s closing moments, Liv seemed anything but happy with Gabby taking the fall for her, will she finally come clean to her family? And how will the fiery Dingles react?
