Did Jim Bowen and his wife Phyllis have children together?

The couple share two children together, Peter and Susan Bowen, and have two grandchildren.

In 2012, Jim told the Daily Mail that his son, Peter, was living in Tenerife working for a distribution company.

Meanwhile, his daughter graduated from Durham University with a degree in Chinese and Business Management and retired at the age of 39 after becoming vice-president at financial firm Citigroup.

Talking about the love he has for his family, Jim admitted to the Mirror last year: “I’ve had more than my share of good luck with a priceless marriage and family.”

Who is Jim Bowen?

Jim was born in 1937 and was adopted by couple Joe and Annie Whittaker.

The star’s real name was Peter Bowen and he was an English stand-up comedian, best known for presenting darts-based gameshow Bullseye.

Before becoming one of the public’s favourite presenters, Jim completed two years’ national service and went on to become a PE teacher in Lancashire.

The father-of-two began his comedy career on the club circuit in the 1960s and later landed other roles on the small screen.

Jim appeared in Celebrity Squares, Talking Telephone Numbers, Lads Army and The Weakest Link.

Did Jim Bowen have previous health issues?

The comedian had three strokes in recent years.

In 2011, he suffered from one stroke at home and a second while in hospital.

He had a third one in November 2014, the result of which left him struggling to walk.

Jim revealed at the time to The Mirror: “I’m doing very well. It’s five years since I had my first stroke, my progress has been slow but steady so my speech is roughly back to speed and I can walk with a stick and everything.”
