Riverdale season 2: Fans left fuming as show does not air on Netflix | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Riverdale viewers were hugely disappointed when Netflix  failed to air the latest episode of the series.

Loyal fans of the show expressed their outrage when they discovered that Chapter Thirty: The Noose Tightens will not be released until April 18.

Furious fans took to Twitter to complain about the delayed episode, with one writing: “Sad that Riverdale is not coming on this week.

Another disappointed viewer tweeted: “Riverdale doesn’t air a new episode this week. Ahhh.” (sic)

A third fumed: “Why the f*** are y’all not playing a new show tonight @CW_Riverdale. WHAT DO YOU MEAN IN TWO WEEKS, COME ON. I’m mad.”(sic)

“Season two of Riverdale was on @Netflix yesterday and now it’s not and I don’t know what to do with my life,” moaned another.

Others complained a third season had been confirmed before the latest episode had aired.

One whined: “So Riverdale season two is not even out on Netflix but they announced season three. I don’t understand.”

“I just want to watch season two of Riverdale but it’s not out on Netflix yet and they just a announced the third season,” commented another.

The CW, an American television network, announced that there would be a third season of Riverdale.

A statement released on Twitter, read: “Order another round of milkshakes! Riverdale is renewed for season three on The CW!”

Despite disappointment about the final episode of season two most fans welcomed the announcement, with one tweeting: “My dream has come true. Give us #vughead and #barchie!”

Another added: “Congrats for season three and thank you for giving us a great show,” while another said: “I can’t wait for it come out. I’m so excited.”

Riverdale season two premiered in October 2017, with a record audience of 2.3 million.

The second series has a total of 22 episodes and it seems likely season three would have a similar number.

Riverdale originates from the Archie Comics, which started in 1941.

The series centres around a group of high school students who work to solve the mysterious secrets of Riverdale.

It stars include K.J Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madeline Petsch, Madchen Amick and Sarah Habel.

Season three is likely to premiere in October 2018, although no date has be given, as of yet.

Riverdale season 2 airs on Netflix on April 18.
